Let’s began our study this morning, with a few questions. 1) Are you a registered voter? 2) Do you think it is necessary to cast your vote? 3) Do you think you put a candidate into office? 4) Do you still believe in the ‘secret’ ballot? These are simple questions that I ask, however in the past, these questions would cause a major discussion and a great deal of fuss. Today, it is water under not over the bridge. It amazes me that there are so many difference of opinions out there that some vote for one candidate just because they don’t like the other one. But what about their views? What about their character? What about......?
One of my viewers says; "It is a shame and a disgrace that many Americans don’t vote. It is a shame and a disgrace that many who do vote don’t take the time to learn about what they are voting for". This reader is pretty adamant that you should consider the following questions in your quest for a President: Are you in favor of abortion? Are you in favor of homosexual marriage? Are you in favor of tax increases? Are you in favor of a bigger government? Are you in favor of surrender in Iraq? Are you in favor of a weaker military? Do you want a novice for commander in chief?
If you are in favor of all these questions then your choice is clear. But ask yourself if you think God would consider any of these questions as being within His will.
Another Morning Glory follower says that she totally believes in the ‘secret’ ballot. She won’t discuss her feelings about either candidate. I believe that is the old school of thought! Today the poll watchers are ready to attack you when you come out of the voting booth to see which way you voted so they can get an early prediction of who won. Let’s look at Romans 13:1 again. What does; "no authority except from God" mean? I believe it means that those who are in authority have been allowed there by God. We have had many men as President. Some we have liked and others we found wanting. Some were immoral and some are referred to as; ‘warring Presidents’ even though they never asked for war. We think we secretly elect a person to office but God knows our hearts and it’s intent. Even when we secretly choose the one who we think is right and the other man get’s into office, God has allowed it to take place. Most Christians know this but also know that it is not easy to comprehend. Tomorrow we will talk about why God allows it to happens. Jane Ann
